What’s New? Variable Rate Irrigation
Variable Rate Irrigation (VRI) is an exciting new technology by Lindsay Zimmatic used to program different water rates for different sections of the pivot to water at the same time based on changes in soil type.
Later this year we will fit an existing pivot with this technology. A comprehensive soil map for the pivot site will be developed and data will feed into the VRI programme. The pivot will automatically adjust its application rate via control to the specific level of each individual nozzle. The client will be able to alter the program to fine-tune its performance. We plan to record growth data and make comparisons for the client.
